Two Guests

There are two guests giving input to the first LEQA meeting for 2012:

The Hon. Greg Fischer (pictured), Mayor of Louisville, Kentucky will be connecting with those at LEQA by way of Skype.

Fischer is an entrepreneur, businessman and philanthropist who was elected Louisville’s 50th mayor on 2 November 2010.

The Mayor is the founder of SerVend International, a worldwide corporation and co-inventor of the SerVend ice and beverage dispenser.

He is the founder of Iceberg Ventures, a private investment firm, and co-founder of bCatalyst, the first business accelerator in Louisville.

Mayor Fischer is a former partner and former CEO of Dant Clayton Corporation, which designs, manufactures and constructs sports stadiums around the USA.

  1. While no doubt successful as a businessman and politician, the claim of inventing the ice dispenser machine is heavily disputed, and sounds like an overstatement or embellishment.

Apparently, his Father was the buyer, of the company holding the original patents. Servend was later renamed Servend International, and Fischer was able to get his name inserted on a re-application of one of several patents purchased with the family business as co-inventor.
