At the France-Fujairah Forum held in Fujairah on 29 September 2011, Sohail Iqbal sketched out the details on the Abu Dhabi Oil Pipeline, Terminal and Refinery Project in his keynote address on the big development projects that are boosting the expansion of Fujairah.
Here are the main points:
The details of the Abu Dhabi Crude Oil Project (ADCOP) Project:
+ Owner: International Petroleum Investment Company.
+ Location: The pipeline extends from Hadshan, Abu Dhabi to Fujairah.
+ Length: The pipeline is 370 kms in length.
+ Payment Terms: Lump Sum Turnkey (LSTK).
+ Facility Type: Crude oil pipeline.
+ Capacity: 1.5 million barrels per day (bpd) of crude oil.
The pipeline is expected to be complete by the second quarter of 2012.
Project Facilities
The facilities in this project include the following:
+ A pipe that is 370 km long and 48 inches in diameter.
+ A main pumping station.
+ A main oil terminal.
+ Three Single Point Mooring (SPM) buoys for deepwater tanker loading at Fujairah.
Onshore Terminal
The details of the onshore terminal:
+ 8 tanks which have a 1 million barrel working volume and diameter of 110m.
+ Loading lines 64 inches (1.5m)
+ 12 ship loading pumps for a loading capacity of 80,000 bbl/hr for each SPM.
+ A fiscal metering station.
+ Focus on safety, fire, environmental protection and technical integrity.
+ 3 SPM for VLCCs with 320,000 DWT.
+ 3 loading lines (48 inches) for 80,000 bbl/hr for each line.
+ Integration with future project requirements of the Fujairah Municipality and the Port of Fujairah.
