The Fujairah Municipality has been making a concerted effort to remove paving stones in the middle of streets and replace them with grass.This requires large quantities of water but planting significant areas of green grass is part of a plan to beautify the community.
One of the advantages of this move is seen in the way these grassy areas are increasingly being used by groups of people for sitting and relaxing in the cool of the evening.
