His Highness, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, called Fujairah ‘the lungs of the UAE’ on a visit to the eastern emirate in December 2010.
Now the Fujairah Municipality has taken up this concept in a new clean up campaign with their billboards declaring, ‘Keep Emirates Lung Clean’.
So the UAE has only got one lung?
One would think the Fujairah Municipality would think the eastern emirate is significant enough to imply that Fujairah has got more than one lung that keeps the entire country refreshed, replenished, healthy, pure and lively.
Happy 40th UAE National Day to all Fujairah residents and visitors to the ‘lungs of the UAE’!
